Default Omega - BH 209

Went out with the Omega this morning again. was getting a little frustrated cause I couldn't get any better than 2-3 " at 100 yds no matter where I went with the powder 90-110 gr. 5 ata time with 250 shockwaves, so I decided to try 300 sw, and started where I left off at 90 gr. BH. [first target]

Then I went up to 100 gr. BH

both are 5 shot groups
Then I grinned all the way home

Loading was the same from first to last shot a little jerky but the same pressure, firm two hands, like it should be. These were all shot with remington kleen bore primers cause I ran out of the cci mags.
so I thought I would give it a try. Not even a hint of a hangfire. Instant ignition.
I think the BH would be an excelent powder for hunting but if POI is the same with triple 7 I don't mind the extra swabbing. Just my.02

when i got time I will show what the little brown truck delivered

I guess I thought it interesting that a heavier bullet would shoot that much better, will have to try again to see if it duplicates. And the remington primers working the way that they did ??????

Great shooting, looks like it bears some more investigation.

However, I don't think I would want to trust a kleenbore primer on a frosty morning. Even without a hangfire, I would find a more powerful primer that would work.

Even with the KRB, the first few shots went off without a hitch. But after repeated shots, there were some hangfires.

That extra 10 grains of powder really shrunk your group.
I think you found the sweet spot.
Great shooting

Were the sabots for the 300's any tighter than for the 250's?? Or are they the same sabot??

Klean bore primers are the "strongest" primers out there. Don't know why they call them a ML primer though . Everyone that's tested them comes to the same results. I could not believe how far they shot my ramrod out the barrel when i did it . I did it 4 times in my Encore and they moved the ramrod over 9 1/2 to9 3/4 '' . I have never had a hang fire in my Encore , Pursuit or Optima or Omega while using a Klean bore primer . I don't know if i am just lucky , But i would not think twice about buying more. But they are a shorter primer and i get more blow by , so i use the longer winchester primers that fit snugger in my encore , giving me less blow by and easyier to clean .
