range lead soft enough

RE: range lead soft enough
I have used straight wheel weights for years in both muzzleloaders
and cartridge rifles with NO problems in killing something..The round
balls may load a little bit harder, but you can use a thinner patch to
help avoid this or a bit more lube..You will find that they will kill
just as well as soft lead will....Another thing we have done if you
low on soft lead is to mix it with the WW's at a 50 to 50 rate..This
also works out fine..Good luck and be safe.....Johnny

RE: range lead soft enough
guy on another forum is selling some soft lead for in 50lb lots for $.80/lb. if I had the money free right now I would go on and order some. I have to see what fonds I have when I get home and see if he still has some.
or just start trading my WW ingots for softer stuff since I am going to stop using centerfires (but my 9mm and sks) I am not going to need as much. I got a place I can get it at what scrap yard buy it from them.
