Never shot with double sets before I got my Great Plains three months ago. I kinda like them.

The nice thing about double sets is having a very light trigger pull. It certainly helps in the accuracy department. I do think it takes a little more time when hunting than a single trigger. I just never cared for the way the guards are designed; they don't feel right in my hands. I like to lighten my trigger pull on my single trigger guns and never saw the need for the sets if the pull was light with little travel.

Dave I think this is the first time we ever had a different opinion on something(except bore butter). I hate the single triggers. All my MLs have double triggers and in my 35 yrs of shooting MLs I only had one with a single trigger - Lyman Deerstalker. I hated that trigger and sold the rifle. In all the yrs of hunting with the double trigger I only had one time were I missed a deer because of it. That was when I jumped one and accidently bumped the trigger while shouldering it. And I believe that happened because I was wearing gloves. But on the other hand, if you're used to a single trigger then that's the way to go. Just this past Monday I took a friend out that never shot a ML before and off the bench he touched off the shot twicebefore he was ready even though I warned him not to even touch the front trigger until he was 'on target'.
