Default new englander passed on

was out with my two nephews today. went into a small gunshop. I found a new englander on the rack for $100. kicking myself for spending more then I should of this past month. until I got a good look at it. Rusted and pitted barrel and rust around the nipple area. I may save up my old cig money and see if they have it next month.

If the rifle is not in too bad a shape inside the bore, it might be worth the money. Did you have an opportunity to check the bore. For $100 you can not expect too much. Just the stock and lock could be worth almost that. Was it a wooden stock or composite?

just looking at the crown and a little down the bore. I did not have my bore lite with me. the stock was wood, had 2 hole in the forearm. the look what I looked like did not have any rust on it, the breech did. that and the bore turned me off.

Sometimes you just have to pass if they are too far gone.

On the other hand, for $100 (Imight offer $80 out the door with tax) I have picked up practically dead ML's and revived theminto not only superb looking but superb shooting ML's.

If you are not interested, please PM me the contact info of the gunshop.

I don't really remember the name of the place. it was set up inside a sprint store[&:]. I am saving up some money. if they still have it next month. I may go on and do some wheeling and dealing. or just save it for the lyman I found at another gunshop or get the gunshop I deal with all the time to order me something new.
