Default It seemed way too easy

I got a chance to shoot my new used black diamond. I decided to use musket caps for the ignition since I had never tried them. They seemed to slide off the nipple so I had to give them a little pinch before putting them on. I had some TC cheapshots I had picked up and shot them with 85 grains of 777 2f. The gun shot great. I would dare say it shoots better than my brothers new omega. I think I will pick up some more of the cheapshots when I get a chance since it seems the prices of ammo are on the way up again.
The only negative I would say that the gun is somewhat dirtier in the breech area than my Knight Bighorn. Not a huge deal since I have to clean everything up anyway.

I agree.. the black diamond is a dirty fowling rifle. But they are a great shooter. Also mine shoots conicals real well. Good luck with your rifle. Be sure to check that breech plug from time to time when on the range.

One of my sons has the Black Diamond and he wouldn't trade it for anything. It shoots anything you load it with and you can stuff the second shot down the bore much easier than the Omega. So much has been pounded into our heads about "esay to clean" that we often forget how some of those other ML's shoot. My old BK92 Knight and my old Rem 700 shoot as well or maybe better groups the any os our 3 Omega's. My other son has the Pro Hunter and so far it will not group as well as any of our others do. And it cost $800!!!
