triple 777 loads
How many of you are shooting 150 grains of 777 or Mag 777 in your Omega's? Last 3 rifles I have bought the manual said150 grains of Pyrodex max load. 777 is 15% hotter and may be hurting your groups and your rifle!. Never read the data sheet on Mag 777
I was only shooting 100 or 110 grains but ended up liking pyrodex RS best. 110 grains of RS w/ a hordady 250 sst. Lower velocities but easier cleaning, just as accurate if not better, and cheaper....
Just curious,
Thanks, Steve

RE: triple 777 loads
if im not mistaken in pellet form 150 grains of RS is the same as 150 grains of 777 ... but in loose form then yes 150 grains of 777 burns 15% hotter or better then 150 grains of loose RS.. i could be wrong but this is what i understood?????

RE: triple 777 loads
Never tried 150 of T-7 in my Omega before I traded it off, but I did try 150gr of Pyrodex (50/50) pellets. Accuracy wasn't as good as with lighter loads, but still acceptable. I did a lot of shooting with the Omega one summer checking velocities with various loads and accuracy out to 200 yards. I finally decided 100 grains was plenty for hunting, and anything over 110/120 grains was pretty much a waste of powder (in a .50 cal).
