glass cleaner/alcohol
#1
I see alot of talk on here about swabbing/cleaning with a mixture of glass cleaner and alcohol. But I've seen some variances which is best?
windex/isopropyl alcohol
windex/denatured alcohol
windshield washer fluid/isopropyl alcohol
windshield washer fluid/denatured alcohol
I would assume the windex used is the kind with ammonia

I don't know which is better, but I've been using a 50/50 mixture of Windex (Vinegar Multi-Surface) and isopropyl alcohol. Works well. I believe the acid in the vinegar cuts the fouling.
I don't get the windshield fluid/alcohol mix. It seems to me that windshield fluid is nothing more than a mixture of water and alcohol already. So, when you mix it with alcohol you're doing nothing more than increasing the percentage of alcohol. Why not just use a mixture of water and alcohol to start with and save the cost of the washer fluid?

I'm thrifty (as in cheap
) - I simply swipe a bottle of the wife's dollar store window cleaner out of the cabinet to use. Some day she's going to figure out something's not just right. Buying gallons of window cleaner, and the windows are still dirty!
The cheap stuff seems to work just fine!
