Question regarding bullet drop at 200 yards
I took my White 50 cal Ultramag out and sighted it in today. I have it shooting 2" high at 100 yards. The load I am using is 90 grains of Triple 7 triple f and a 250 grain Barnes bullet. What surprised me is when I moved out to 200 yards the bullet dropped about 30", does that sound right?

Sure does not sound right to me... here is a 250GD from my Austin & Halleck with 110 grain T7-2f

No, something was definitely wrong with your results. Even a 460 grain conical wouldn't be that low at 200 yards ahead of 90 grains of Pyrodex.
How many shots did you shoot at 200... and did they form a group or a scattering? I would really like to better understand your results.

TC Omega with 150 G RS Pyrodex behind 250 G Hornady SST, regular Winchestershotgun209 primers.
Sighted 3.5 inches hi at 100 yds, drop at 200 ydsis 8 inches.
This is range proven results. 3 shot group at 200 yds is under2 inches, if I do My part.
I love My Omega.

http://sav10ml.com/pages/load_data/traj_basic_dat.html
you need to enter
your bullet wt
your bc
your mv
and the zero of your gun
in your case it would be
250g
xxx whatever your bc is
1800 for mv is a good estimate with 90g of 777
100 yards for the zero.
The program will tell you drop out to 300 yards every 50 yards. Chap

Remember, published velocities are often exaggerated, as are BC's for ML bullets (not that's it's particularly uncommon for other bullets, either![:@]).
That's why one should NEVER sight in based on a ballistics chart and assume that just because the bullet hits at a certain point at a certain range it will follow the chart for all other ranges. If you plan to shoot at a particular range, you should verify your point of impact at that range.
Ballistic charts, even with good MV and BC data, are just a reference for a starting point, but cannot substitute for range time as you've witnessed for yourself.
Good Luck,
Mike
