Default RE: Question regarding bullet drop at 200 yards

ORIGINAL: silverstreak

I took my White 50 cal Ultramag out and sighted it in today. I have it shooting 2" high at 100 yards. The load I am using is 90 grains of Triple 7 triple f and a 250 grain Barnes bullet. What surprised me is when I moved out to 200 yards the bullet dropped about 30", does that sound right?
Look up the Barnes Ballistic Coefficient and estimate the fps of the 90g of 777 and drop it into this:

http://sav10ml.com/pages/load_data/traj_basic_dat.html

you need to enter
your bullet wt
your bc
your mv
and the zero of your gun

in your case it would be
250g
xxx whatever your bc is
1800 for mv is a good estimate with 90g of 777
100 yards for the zero.

The program will tell you drop out to 300 yards every 50 yards. Chap
