Default Thompson contender 209 conversion

I was given a Thompson Contender,50 cal., High Plains sporter.
Do they sell a conversion kit to change it from a #11cap to a 209 percussion cap?
if so? is it something I should do?
I am going to use it to hunt white tail.

If you're going to use loose powder, #11 is all you need. Personally, I would prefer #11 over 209s.

When I converted my System one I ended up going back to the regular breach plug and a musket nipple shot better groups and was more consistant than 209's I wish I could get my Omega and my Triumph to use musket caps. Lee
