thanks I've been looking for a while for a handload for it but all i could find were geared toward lever action rifles .I always cut down the loads and work my way up to the max load anyway

This is my next favorite cartridge for the Contender. I started out years ago with the 16" bbl and later went to the 14" HB. I use 30-30 win cases necked down and then fire form them. I personally like Nosler 120 grn ballistic tips. Do as was suggested here buy you a copy of the reloading book for the contender. I bought my first contemder 18 years ago sold it after a few and then kicked myself until I bought another 10 years ago. I now shoot 22 lr, 223 rem, and 7-30 waters - soon to add a 256 win mag to the arsenal.
