Knight Owners
Hello all, just purchased a Knight Disc Elite from one of your local huntingnet members and need some load advise. I am looking for some good accurate loads for this rifle. The muzzleloader willbe used for deer hunting witha max range of about 150 yards. Thanks a lot,

RE: Knight Owners
This is an answer I got from Knight Rifle a long time ago when I asked them to tell me what my Knight Disc rifle would shoot well.
"We would use 100-150 grs. Of powder and a
250 to 300 gr barnes bullet to check accuracy..if this still does not
achieve accuracy ..."
The latter part of the e-mail simply stated that if the rifle does not shoot a 2-1/2 inch group at 100 yards, to let them know and they would check it. At the time I had just got my Disc rifle, wanted to mount a scope, so I had a lot of questions, and Knight had a lot of answers.

My pet loads for my Knight...
90 grs Pryodex R-S or Goex FFF behind a 250 Shockwave SST...Sight in 2 1/2 high at 100 and you will be 2 1/2 low at 150...
100grs Pyrodex R-S or Goex FFF behind a 300 gr Barnes Expander...Sight in 2 1/2 high at 100 and will be 5-6 inches low at 150...My Knight does not like the 250 Barnes...I also called Knight several years ago, they basically said if a Knight doesn't like the 300 Barnes there is something wrong with it.
Both have taken multiple whitetails for me...I started with the Barnes and went with the SST for beanfields...

RE: Knight Owners
I don't have a disc elite. I'm currently shooting a Knight KRB. I've had good results with 110 gr. of fff Triple seven and a 250 gr. Barnes expander. Whenever it cools down some, I've got a few other loads to try. It's just been too dang hot to shoot lately.

RE: Knight Owners
I noticed this topic earlier today But I couldn't find a post where I listed a bunch of stuff that I've shot in my Extreme. I waited till I had time to do a search.
Here's a number of loads that shoot well (sub 2") out of mine. Most group from 1-1 1/2" out of it with a few better and a few slightly worse. I don't remember for sure what the best andworse performers were, butI do remember the 295 Powerbelt load was in the2" range. I also remember the 260 Knight jacketed bullet was a sub inch shooter out of my wife's old 22" Wolverine but was a little less accurate out of my Extreme.
Hope a few of these work for you.

I like the 300 grain Hornady XTPs with 100 grains of T7 pellets...max range with this setup is around 150...you could achieve a greater range I'm guessing by using a higher charge...but in my experience you give up your tight groups for that...
