T7 in a flintlock-what do you use for a priming charge in the barrel? A small amount of actual BP? How much?? What granulation?

I was dumping 10 grains of Goex 4f first down the barrel. I then tapped it level, then dumped in the Triple Se7en. Also I used Goex 4f as the priming charge. Ignition was as fast as with straight Goex, powder was excellent, and the barrel did not fowl up very bad at all.

I want to play some more with this duplexing. I can see just getting some Goex 4f and shooting. But I want to try it in cold weather, damp weather, etc. Sure would make things handy for shooting.

If you have the opportunity to try that duplexing eldeguello, I wish you would as I value your opinion on this stuff a great deal and would really like to read your impressions of this idea. Frontier Gander might have got mestarted on a whole new kick with this.

No need to get started. It fouls up badly and shoots all over the place lol. My first shot at 100 yards was perfect but all 11 other shots were all over the place. I'd have to swab the barrel clean for each shot. As for shooting, its on hold due to the neighbors hauling in ANOTHER one of their campers and a 12 person van[:@][:@] I swear, You just cant get rid of yuppies. They are from denver so maybe i should let my pitbull out There would be sandles and flipflops flying all over the place if they set eyes on him.

rifles fixed! I ended up using my original frizzen spring and just polished the crap out of it with wet 400 grit sand paper and then buffed it with 0000 steel wool. Took the lock apart and cleaned everything up in there and then added a lead wrapped flint. The leather wrapped flint would just not spark. Now shes ready for tomorrows 100 yard shooting and then put away until hunting season starts.

I have not shot at long distance yet with the duplex loads, but for the close range shooting I did, I did not experience bad fowling at all. In fact just the opposite.
