Default What About "Deer Creek" Muzzleloaders

Well guys, I'm doing my research on flintlocks.

I've seen "Deer Creek" flintlocks mentioned here or in some other forum. Did a GOOGLE and came up with some info that indicated a company called Union Creek Muzzleloaders either made (?)or distributed (?)Deer Creek guns. Found their web site and it had a note "We have quit selling muzzleloaders."

The only other site I could find with Deer Creek gunswas azmountainman.com that lists a "Deer Creek 'Northwest' model 45-54 cal, precussion or flint, for $325". There's no other info on the site regarding barrel length, rate of twist, etc.

Does anyone out there have know anything aboutthese guns? Who makes them? Are they KAPUT?

Hey gander, I see you have a 45 cal Deer Creek sidelock. How would you rate it as far as quality, say in relation to Traditions/Lyman/Thompson Center?

Everything is excellent except for the tumbler that broke a little piece off of. Other than that, the rifles balance, weight and sights have been great for me. 2" groups @ 150 yards with the open sights and a 225 powerbelt. Patched roundball @ 100 is amazing. I'd give them a call and ask about the deer creek North West rifle. Heck, even ask about a mountain rifle. I own both

Also forgot to add,
The north west rifle will have the cva lock, and its a good lock on the flinter. They like sharp flints and go off instant once you find the correct way to prime.
