Default Firing an In-line: instant or delay?

When you fire an in-line with a #209 primer and pyrodex pellets, does the rifle go off instanly like a center fire rifle or is there a slight delay like a flintlock? Never fired an in-line before but I got one for Christmas. I've fired a flintlock many times and I'm hoping that the in-line will perform a lot quicker and more reliably.

A properly working and cleaned rifle will go off instantaneously after pulling the trigger. If it does not, ether your fire hole is clogged or it is too small. My brother had a cva and he converted it to 209 primer. The first time he shot it the thing had almost a one second delay. Every time we fired it. So we took it home put the breach in a drill press and slightly oversized the fire hole. We never had a problem since.

Thanks. So it will be very similar to a center-fire. I believe the delay from the flintlock has caused more than one miss.

I don't think you will be able to notice the delay. They are very fast.

I agree with 1950 you shouldn't be able notice that much of a difference.
