My Knight LRH seems to like 105gr triple 7 3f loose and 250gr parker ballistic extreams. Take a look at this 100 yard target.

Thanks for the picture post, one accurate bullet. Chap

Chap - It really looks like you have put a lot of time in on the Omega. So far the 300 grn SST / SW has shot the tightest groups for me and I really like how the bullet mushroomed and stayed together in the picture you posted. I will try some of the other bullets posted in time just for fun if nothing else. Working on a load right now for a ML Muley hunt in Utah this fall, so if nothing else, I currently feel I can go out with the 100 grn Pyrodex / 300 grn SST / 3P EZ load and it will perform, but definitely going to keep working on it. I am looking forward to trying the crushed rib sabots when they show up as well. Given I cannot use a powered scope in Utah, or here in Nevada, 200 yds is farther than I am probably comfortable shooting. A good 150 yd load will make me happy. I am using the powered scope to work up the load and then I will practice with the set up I decide to use for the hunt.

because I know exactly what the rifle will do, so that is great to know.
In you case, 'finding a great load early' is a great place to start, you got that in reserve to know what you can come back to if something doesn't work out OR you run out of time (which fequently happens if your a bow hunter also, like I am). I have killed a buck with open sights at about 100 yards, but 150 for me would really really be streching it. Since your limited to open sights, you may want to try some other bullets that have excellent penetration and expansion and are cheaper---Hornady XTP 300g and Speer Gold Dot 300g are what I will be using in my omega, Knight and TC FL now. They are excellent out to 125 yards, the cost of these is very resonable with 50 bullets being $16. Once you go to a Barnes or a Nosler Partition they are $1 each, so you hate to practice at $1/bullet.
I like the 300g since they TEND to shoot thru, the 250 tend to not shoot thru. I like the off side blood trail. I also like expansion. I also like deep penetration, of course accuracy is #1, but I will give up MOA accuracy for great penetration and >>NO<< fragmentation--I am very big on no fragmentation. I have only 1 thing against the SW, and that is jacket separation sometimes occurs, but if you buy the bonded bullet I don't think that will happen. They come with ez-glide sabots now, Bass Pro had them, will send you the link if I find it again.
