As mentioned, swab the barrel every shot, that's certainly the condition your rifle is going to be in during the hunt. I've tried many of the powders and thus far the APP Shockey's Gold is easily the cleanest I've seen.

The new winchester 777 primers have made a big difference in my gun with the crud ring. If you can locate some, try them.
And I too, swab between each shot at the range. Why not? With any bullet/powder combo it gererally improves your accuracy. And that first shot at game is with a basically clean barrel. I do "foul" mine when I load it by popping a cap by itself, then popping a cap with 10-15 grains powder, then swabing then loading. Has worked for me

Ya, I foul the barrel. Load 50g pellet and a cleaning wad. Got that idea from a fellow board member. From the looks I got from the boys at the range, when that wad shot out of there, I definately can tell the guy that gave me the idea shoots at his own private range![X(]It does work.
