Default RE: Buffalo Bullet Conicals

ORIGINAL: cayugad

I often wondered if the hollow point design of the Buffalo Bullet Conical made it open that much or if smacking two shoulder blade would have done it to any conical, no matter the design. The bone fragments, the hole, and the blood damage was hard to describe.
One thing is certain. The hollowpoint did not prevent the bullet from crushing through not only one, but two, shoulders. I haven't taken a scapula shot with a 385 GP bullet but theycreatebetter than quarter sized exit holes on a double lung shot. Devastating projectile. These heavy hollowpoints have so much momentum that they enter the vitals with alot of their velocity and energy retained. Lighter faster moving projectiles dissipate a greater proportion of their energy at right angles to impact at the surface and enter vitals areduced energies, not that it matters (except for ruining meat), as it doesn't take a whole lot of energy to do the job.

In any event, those moderately charged hollowpoint conicals seem to continue expanding as they drive through game leaving a verylarge wound. Incredibly effective projectiles (though maybe too effective?) in my own experience and also in yours.

I think that the 425gr Great Plains is perfect. I also want to try the 425gr Buffalo Conical to see if there is any difference.
