That's a heavy load with not alot of powder at that distance it is kind of lobbing out there, I would be worried about penetration on larger animals and maybe up your powder charge.

Take a look at the 200 yard kinetic energy/foot pounds with 100 grains Pyrodex shown (roughly 85gr. 777) with the lightwieght 225 gr -- then the 405 gr. Powerbelts below.
Hopefully, you have Acrobat Reader installed.

Lonewolf's Buffalo S.S.B may start-off slow, but once it gets rolling, it's like a freight train that's hard to stop.

I am shooting the same bullet with a 90 grain load and getting great results out of a Knight
Bighorn. I lost about 150 fps when I dropped down to 80 grains. Going up to 100 grains I maintained the same velocity and lost some accuracy. 90 seems to be the magic number for me. By the way it has about a 15" drop at 200 yds and 1550 fps or so on the velocity through my chronograph.

RE: question buffalo 375 ssb bullet?
For the first time today, i used the 45/50 435 gr. Buffalo S.S.B after finding a nearby gun store that had 15 boxes leftover. Even at that monster size of 435, they are still 36-pks and cost $14.99. I'm thinking seriously about buying the 14 boxesI left inside the store - because I believe they are discontinued.
Anyways, they wereeasy to sight-in -- since my Omega was already sighted-inwith the lighter ones. I ended up using 80 gr. 777 with a wad underneath the bullet. I'm only at the 50 yard range today... but don't expect any problems moving to the 100 in a week or two.
This is one serious-looking sabot/bullet. I would not want to get hit by this bullet.

The one that is referred to as the ssb is a sabot type bullet if I have the correct one located. I was of the impression that it was just a bore sized conical. Help me get the correct one. The one in a sabot also is slightly boat tailed if I am looking at the correct one.
