My brother recently bought an UltraMag, now he is a lurking member here (WhiteSkagit). Only a matter of time before he is on here giving me fits. He and sabotloader will be ganging up on me I imagine.

Oh yea.....received the Lightning last night. Only had a fewminutes to get aquainted, but I like what I saw/felt. They are supposed to weight about 6 lbs. I will weigh it tonight just for fun. Bob adjusted the trigger and bedded it before he sent it to me. The trigger feels like about 2 lbs, but will check that also.
Hopefully will have time to take a closer look at it tonight and maybe be able to post a few photos.
Can't wait to shoot it. Hopefully this weekend. You coming over again sabotloader???
You can bring me that Mueller scope while you are at it.

congrats on the new lightening. I am sure Bob did a perfect job on the bedding and such. That should be an excellent rifle. Although if you have any concerns you can send it to me and I would be glad to test it for you... no charge.

She weighs in at 6 lbs, 5 oz. The trigger breaks at 1 lb, 12 oz.
Personally, I like these sites WAY better than the fiber optics on the U-Ms. Have to shoot it some before I decide if I want to put a peep on it.

It's been a while since I have made it out shooting, but after receiving the White Lightning this past week I was determined.
Also brought along the 223 NEF.
There was the usual Tri Cities wind of about 10-15 mph.

Started shooting at 70 yards, hoping to be on the paper and it was. Adjusted rear site prior to 4th target, shooting at 100 yards.
The .504s are VERY tight. I think I am getting some 460 gr .503 N.E. from sabotloader this week.If those are the right fit, I will place an order with Bullshop.
I must say, this little gun is awesome. As I said,it weighs in at 6 lb5 oz and will be aDREAM to carry hunting. Barrel is 22" long. Trigger is under 2 lbs and is awesome for shooting targets. Will probably adjust up prior to hunting season. Recoil was pretty substancial, but did not cause a problem.
I just nowlooked at the first three targets a little closer. I am amazed that I used2 different powdersand 2 differentloads and if I look at all 10 shots taken at 70 yards they areall within 4". I shot 4 times at the third target because the first one was the high one. Then I changed my safety glasses from sunglasses to regular and shot the two that were touching. I thought, "Dang, need to go for more touching." Well, the next one didn't.
And..............no sabotloader, cayugad, redcluband goatbrother, I am not going to send it to you.

Beautiful gun, I love theSS barrel on Black stockand not bad shooting with open sights at 70 yards. I can't tell how your group size is because your targets have no lines on them, but that is excellent for first time shooting the gun. You have two of them right? Why two are they different models?
