Mine looks like the one in the original post except except it wears regular blued Weaver style bases and rings mounted with a fixed 4x Tasco scope that a bought new with the gun in back in 95.

cdad as you know I just traded bat my Lam U Mag for his Lightning. I own a Syn U Mag and now I own two of these Lightnings. I liked the first one so much I did the trade. Both of these Lightnings will shoot every bit as good as the U Mag. Although the recoil is quite a bit more than the U Mags but nothing that should bother you. If I shoot anything but Trip 7 fff I use a wad. These guns will shoot the RS, P, and Trip 7 with excellent accuracy. It is true they have a tighter bore than the U Mags. The 504s are tight but they shoot the lights out with them. The no excuses which are a 503 seems a little to loose but shoot awsome so if you can get Dan to cast you some 503.5 you should be good to go. I've got about 400 of the 504s left in 460grn but as soon as I start getting low my next order with Dan will be for some of the 503.5s in the 460grn. If you want a gun you can pack all day long in the mountains you could not find a better one than the Lightning. As savagescout knows I suck with computers and pictures. My last outing with the new Lightning and 1 power scope I had my last six shots making one big hole at 65 yards. This was with 70grns of P and a wad and the #11 remington caps. CDad, here's a 3 shot group shot at 75 yards with my Lightning. I was using 70gr t73f, lubed felt wad, 496gr NEW and a RWS 1075 cap.

You guys have my blood pumping to get this gun. Super is going to do the trigger at 3 to 3 1/2 lbs. He is also going to bed it for me and I think it has had more beafy lugs put on it. It should be a good one.

I do have an assortment of .504's from Bullshop. No 460's, sabotloader has shot them all at clay pigeons and golf balls!!!! I have about 75 of the 500 gr that Cayugad likes so much. A new pound of 777 2f and 2 lbs of Swiss 3f.

Can't wait to shoot some of those 620 gr out of a 6 lb gun. Too bad RC isn't here to share the "recoil fun" with me.

I think I'll throw a scope on the Lightning before too long so I can have some nice friendly competition with sabotloader. Now that I have made that threat, he'll be hitting the range every day for the next month preparing......just like last time.

Ya but, Ya but, at least I am a shootin' I do have a couple boxes of 503 No excuses and still have most of a box ofDan's 504 - 400 grain (yours) and I have a very few of the 460 - 504's (also yours) but you can't have them, well I guess you could if you really wanted them.If you are going to throw an order together for bullshop Dan let me know I'll add a few pounds unless you are ordering the full 500 for yourselfish.

You shore enuf like punishment... have u ever replced the headlight in the subur yet or are you still just getting out and a hittin da fender? Leave that fer your wife again with a bad headlight and you might find a real source of punishment..

I do have a new Sightron 3x9x40 S1 scope if you might be interested... There is no fear here i still got cha because I have a secret factor... and by the way the truck is still dirty. Actually I do not know if the scope would help you dat much, it wouldhelp Matt though, he is an athlete.

It does look like I might be over next week end if Rik's AC unit gets here from GE. But it might also be awfull busy, I started back to work for the Forest Service also and that is burning some of my time. I almost got a Turkey yesterday morning driving up the Palouse River, but it wasn't with a gun... the stupid thing almost flew into the grill of the FS truck I was driving, you can not imagine the paper work I would have to do if that had happened, it would not have been worth a turkey...

Speaking of Bullshop 620's. Here's a nice 5 shot group out of my Lightning.

Nimrodder.. that is some excellent shooting there. I hear you all talk about the Lightening and how well they shoot. I was tempeted to get one of them when they came up for sale, but I just bought another flintlock, so I thought I better pass. Besides, that Ultra Mag of mine shoots them .504 caliber conicals so well, I just about get tired of shooting it. Plus I really someday want to get a .451 caliber White. I think that would be a great rifle as well. If Bat can knock a monster wild boar down with that "squirrelgun" of his,it would sure take whitetail out. And I am guessing at some impressive distances as well.

I understand when Sabotloader says he gets tired of punching holes in paper. Had you keep shooting I would have guess you would have just made a better hole. Or if you're like me, you have a flier and ruin the whole works. I have gotten to where I was putting soda pop cans on their sides and blasting them, and hanging things off the string in the target trap to blast.

That really is some outstanding shooting there. Is that with open sights or a scope?
