I purchased anew, unfiredWhite-Lightning last night. Should be coming my direction in 2 or 3 weeks. It will have nice company with my two UltraMags. I really wasn't in the market, but I just could not pass it up. Here is the description from Doc White's site.

the WHITE-LIGHTNING rifle
The rarest WHITE rifle, so rare I didnt even have one in my collection for a while. Only 2000 were made in 1994 and all were sold in 1995 for less than $299 each. Wilson made the barreled actions and did such a great job that no Lightning rifle has ever been returned because of accuracy problems. I have never had one traded in, ever!
The barrel and action were one piece in one inch diameter, the only caliber was 504 with a slightly tapered 22 inch barrel , the lightweight SG-series action (SG means Small G) was a mirror image of the Whitetail and Bison actions only with the cocking handle on the right and the trigger safety on the left. Internal parts were otherwise the same as all other G-Series rifles except the hammer, which the idiot machinists made slightly larger. Stocks were lightweight Birch, painted black with a rubber recoil pad. Weight was right at 6 lbs. I never saw an inaccurate one.
WhiteLightnings are available only occasionally. I have had only a few for trade. This is a photo of a customer's White Lightning.

Are you trying to corner the market on all the White Rifles out there? I thought about one of them but the next White will be a .451 Super 91-II. That Lightening I have read are sweet shooters. I will be waiting for your first range report C-dad.

Cdad is celebrating, his son is doing so well in track winning his events, Cdad decided he would celebrate Matt's success so he bought himself a present for giving Matt all that talent..... He says he "fought the urge" but it overwhelmed him.. took about dat . long and he ordered it....
I guess a guy can never have to many Whites....

Actually that is a nice little rifle. I can't blame C-dad for getting one. And Sabotloader is no one to talk, when it comes to buying guns. Its just his wife must be an angel to put up with him, his constant purchases, and his multi colored stock..
C-dad I heard they have a smaller bore then the Ultra Mag, so you might need to get some .503 bullets. Bullshop made me a bunch of them in .460 and I have been shooting them out of my Black Diamond XR with some real good results. Maybe one of the current lightening owners can tell you what size you get. I am sure it will be a good shooter, like all the other Whites.

I really look forward to getting this gun and shooting it. I am very curious about the recoil, being it is so light. Sure will be a dream to pack though.
Cayugad, I have been thinking about a 91, but have been able to talk myself out of it. I have also been thinking about the Lightnings, but never thought I would see one like this. When these popped up, I knew I only had a few hours to decide or it would be to late.
I really haven't had a desire for a .451. A guy I work with has a .451 97 with laminated thumbhole stock that he would sell me. I don't know what the price, maybe too high, but I just have never been serious about it.
Jason said he might have some .503 460s he can send me. We'll see.
I need to shoot!!!!!!!!!

Your brother is too busy to shoot, so maybe I should just get his stash. Actually, my brother has a BUNCH of lead. May have to get you some of it and have you make me some bullets. Some of the .5035's for the WL and some of the .5045's for the U-M's. That is IF you ever get that other mold. Only another month or two I think. [:@]
