I have 3 daughters...But I buy my own fingernail polish...The youngest thinks its a hoot that dad keeps it in his gun cleaning cabinet....Also, make sure that you clean the threads and screws with rubbing alcohol before putting nail polish on, if they are greasy it defeats the purpose...

This is also why I own a Ruger M-77...No hidden screws to worry about...
Never knew that scope screws/mounting could be a buying factorin purchase of a rifle. Keep that nail polish closed!

Loc-tite is great
Purple is for up to 1/8" screws and blue is for larger screws.
Red is almost permanent.

I just bought some new Warne QD bases and rings for my new Savage 10 ML and I was wondering if you guys use any cement to hold the screws in the bases? What do folks use? Chap Gleason
I bought some LocTite 222MS "Low Strength", it is however in a red bottle. Is "low strength" the same as what you guys called "blue"?
When I talked to the Brownell's guy he read the descriptions and I believe I chose "low strength" but I know you guys talked aobut blue, red and yellow and I am not sure of the strength of what I have. The bottle doen't say either. Anyone know about LocTite 222MS Low Strength being acceptable for scope screws on a ML?

The color is the color of the liquid not the bottle. Low strength should be OK. Any can be released by heat but the red is definately dangerous as it can become very hard to remove.

How about if I say, "Don't use the 404. It is red and comes in a yellow bottle."?

By the way Keith, your bullets are in the mail.
