If concerned about a liquid based lube contaminating a charge, try adding a felt wonder wad between the powder and the projectile. It normally will fix all of that. Also the bore button will help protect the patch. BUT be sure to shoot the rifle on the range. Some rifles like bore buttons and some hate them.
