Default Cabelas cancelled my Apex order

Dang, I just got this notice in the mail today saying that my "returned merchandise has been received". So I called. They tell me that it has been discontinued. So I told them that I figured as much and that I ordered it before they sold out of them.Of course, I'm telling them how I dumped my other rifle for less than 1/2 what I paid for it to clear the money to buy this one. In fact, I've been paid and I shipped it already, only clearing $100.

Ialso tell them that Ihelp my Dad order the same rifle two days after my order and they there was several in stock at that time. So they check, and sure enough, my Dad's Apex has already been shipped. So by now they are totally confused and can't explain how that happened and ask me to call back tomorrow to discuss it customer service.

I'll let everyone know how this works out. I do hope I get my Apex.

That's a bummer, Cabelas usually has great service as I've never had a problem with them. I hear the Apex is a great shooter. Let us know what happens and what you both will be shooting in them. Us guys dig that stuff about groupings and what powders and bullets we all shoot. Good luck.

Well the issue of my cancelled Apex order was finally resolved. It took maybe an hour and a half. I'm not getting my Apex [&o]. I had really hoped that they would find some way to get one, whatever it took, and see to that I got the Apex I wanted. I was a little surprised to find that the customer rep would not admit any failings in the Cabelas system to ship the product I ordered. Were it not for the fact I ordered my Dad's two days after I ordered this one, (his has shipped and there were "a few" of them at the time we ordered), I don't think I would have gotten anywhere at all.

Rather going through the whole ordeal, I'll just say that they utimately offered to sell me the SS/Black Kodiak Pro for $15 less (currently selling for259.99)and waiveshipping charges. And they let me use the rebate I had used when I ordered the Apex (an additional $20 off). Hey, its not the Apex but they did take a step my direction on the Kodiak Pro. And while I could be happier (have an Apex coming), I have have resolved to to be satisfied with the arrangements they did make for me.

Frontier Gander, I did not use the codes on this because I thought that you might consider the Kodiak Pro as an alternative. So I still have them for that purpose if you wish to consider it.

I like the kodiak pro just as much as the apex. It's the same gun except thatthe apex hasgot a different name and more weight. It's not as good a deal as the apex but I would buy it. Sorry to hear about your cancelled order. I'm so gladI ordered mine when I did. You still have one, right? That was the second you ordered, correct? Why would you need two?

All of you who waited to buy that gun made a mistake.

Yes I did get one earlier in the month. I wanted two, but I admit I don't need two.s No . . . I did NEED two. I wanted one without scope for ML season. I'm scoping the other for rifle season. I sold my SS Sidekick, so the second was literally to replace it.

And your right, one snoozes they loozes. But I wasn't snoozing, I ordered mine in plenty of time to get one, they just didn't process my order for days, i guess.

I can see why you would want two. Why not for that price? I personally don't hunt with a scoped muzzleloader but I bought a scope and rings just for fun. I've already got two ML's though--a closed and open breech one--so I don't think I'll buy another for a long, long time.

That's too bad about the customer service. Cabela's was probably just swamped with all of the Christmas orders. I think that was just about the ML deal of the century. You could have bought several and sold them to desperate souls like Frontier Gander and make tons of money. Just kidding[8D]

Well, like I said, I have resolved to be satisfied with the efforts they made forme. Having at one time managed a retail establishment, I have found that the key to customer satisfaction is to make clear one (the retailer) is making efforts to satisfy the customer. I found that when I initiated solution finding that usually a compromise solution could be quickly attained leaving the customer totally and completely satisfied.

Likewise, when achieving satisfaction as a consumer is not forthcoming, it is important to be patient and offer solutions to the retailer. It is important not to give up or you will be guaranteed dissatisfaction. While I surprised how much time it took, we eventually settled on an agreement, and I am satisfied. I will still be a loyal Cabelas customer.

well shoot. If they dont have any apex's then i'll just pass on a new muzzleloader. I like the kodiak and all but i just dont like the hollow stocks on them. So keep those numbers as a gift and use them!. If you have any kids or family members that want to get into muzzleloading, pick up a cva wolf for $140, use those 2 cards and get it for $113 shipped! I got a project going on in the shop, so i'll just go ahead and start on it again and beat myself for screwing around with that one guy over those car parts for so long. Boy was he pist when i told him i sold it to someone else! But Phil, please put those cards to good use and make a newbe muzzleloader hunting. I think you said you have a niece my age? Buy her a muzzleloader!

Thanks Jon, I did look into that. They will let me use only one of them (per order)so I cancelled the order before completing it. Walmart has the same thing for $109 so I thought I would just wait and see if they go down any further. Also if I help her buy a ML, it will be just part of the purchase just so I know she really wants one. I'm kindaspent out rightnowand I think my wife will kill me if I spend more. Anyway you can still use one of them for a purchase before Jan 15or give themto someone who is planning a purchase or two (if both are to be used).
