Guys,
I had bought some 200 grain bonded shockwaves last year and compared them to myregular shockwave in 250 grains at the beginning of the season. Iwasn't happy with the accuracy of the 200sin my gun using 110 or 125grains of 777. So, I pretty much punted and figured I would stay with my regular load until the season was over.
So, yesterday I am in wallyworld and they have some of the 250 grain shockwaved bonded bullets on sale. I figured, what the heck, should shoot the same as the regular 250s,,,, right?
Well, I go to the range before I went hunting on Saturday and shoot three. Everything is the same. Same gun, same primer, same 110 grains of powder,,,, but not the same group. Those suckers were all over the place. Go back and shoot three of the regular 250s, solid group just over an inch. Go figure.
So, my question is, has anyone else done a comparison? Or is my gun just not liking the bonded bullets. Other than the pretty blue tip, I cant tell the difference in the bullet or the sabot. The sabot looks exactly the same.

your information is very interesting. I've never seen them in the store around me and really have no need for a bonded bullet for what I hunt. I appreciate your testing through...

I have done a comparison and in fact I shot both this weekend back to back. I posted a picture of my last 5 shots using Shockwave Bonded 250gr at 150 meters in a separate post. The other ones I was using was the regular yellow tip Shockwaves in 250gr. I shot 12 regular (yellow tip) Shockwaves and 15 of the (Blue tip) Bonded ones. I saw NO difference in patterns. I was using the easy glide sabots on both.
I will probably keep buying both and plan to start using the bonded ones for hunting purposes.

That might be the difference.
The ones I have use the same black sabot that the yellow tipped ones use.
I may get away at lunch today and try again.
I just felt that they might do a little better holding together if you hit a bone. I'm very happy with the yellow tipped version, but always looking for improvement.
Thanks
Hank
