Scopes on muzzleloaders...

Since your shots are going to be close as you say, how about a 1.5-4.5x32mm Bushnell Banner Dusk to Dawn scope. On 1.5 you have a huge field of view, can actually see your sights in the scope, can do snap shots, and still crank it up to 4.5 should a 100 yard shot present itself. Put some Warne QD rings on it and you should be all set.
Another good scope is the Nikon Pro Staff 2-7x32mm for the same reasons...

Thanks guys. I am pretty set on the NEF stainless steel sidekick at this point. Heard nothing but good things about it overall even though it has a few flaws like the ramrod. Cabela's is selling it with a Pine Ridge 2.5 - 7 x 32 scope. Is this a decent scope for my purposes - wide range of view, bright in low light, etc. Or am I better off getting something separately?
Also, any good reference guides out there on scopes? I don't know much about what 2.5 or 7 x 32 means. I just know I'm supposedto use the crosshairs.

I got a Pro Staff on my White Ultra Mag and with that set up.. anything comes in front of me out to 150 yards, would be in a world of hurt. I think with practice I could shoot and group even further then that.

I have old eyes and iron sights just don't work anymore for me. I have 1.5-5 power Simmons Pro-Diamond scopes on both of my inline muzzleloaders. I am working on getting a White Thunderbolt and may kick the power up a little for that one as it is supposed to be a 200 yard contender. Presently with the low power scopes I keep it on 1.5 and you can make snap shots as quick as with iron sights. I also limit my shots to 100 yards. I passed up an elk this year at 117 ranged yards due to not being absolutely sure where my bullet would be at that range. I need to spend more time at longer distances on the range. If Arizona did not allow scopes I would not be able to hunt.
