Shockey vs Pyrodex in a Hawken

Shockey vs Pyrodex in a Hawken
I have been using pyrodex in my Hawken .50 , 80 grns with a 460 gr Great Plains. I have bought a jug of Shockey ($38 a pound.... ouch) and was wondering if it burns the same temp or if it is hotter?
Has anyone had any luck using this powder in a Hawken?
One deer and one moose down and now going for more deer and elk.... probably a bad time to mess with a load!

While I have no doubt that the Shocky Gold will shoot out of the rifle, I am concerned about the question of accuracy with the powder. I have not shot Shocky Gold. I have shot two pounds of APP 3f and have decided while it is a nice clean powder, I have yet to be able to get that powder to shoot a conical. You might find that it shoots roundball real well.
The best conical powders I have shot are, Triple Se7en fffg, Triple Se7en ffg, Goex 3f, Black Mag 3 and Pyrodex P.

I am more concerned by instantaneous ignition with your Hawkens using Shockeys. I will bet it's the same large rock salt-looking granules as APP. Be sure to pour slowly with the muzzle straight-up - then grab hold of the muzzle & turn your wrist left& right kinda' fast back& forth a few times - so the granules work their way under the nipple snug - so no air/moisture develops there during a long hunt.
