Default TC Omega X7

Anyone get or try one of the new Omegas?

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0039958216216a&navCount=1&podI d=0039958&parentId=cat20815&masterpathid=& amp;navAction=push&cmCat=door_biggame-door-cat20815&catalogCode=XG&rid=&parentTyp e=index&indexId=cat20815&hasJS=true

I like the shorter barrel on this one, but not sure how "badly" it would
effect the performance... Maybe I should just stick with the regular stainless/laminate?

Thanks

Performance wise, I would not be all that concerned. It's an Omega and it should shoot just fine. With the shorter barrel you might loose a little velocity but nothing to get concerned about. Knight, White, and others have sold 22" barrels for years and they shoot just fine, even at long distances, and the deer are just as dead.

I looked at one last week at the store. They sure have a nice laminate stock but I was not real impressed with the peep sight. It did shoulder well and seemed balanced. It would be fun to have one just to see what I could make it do..

Thanks for the info Cayugad. Do you think gun would match my T/C Black Diamond XR? My black diamond is a tack driver and I have no problem out to 200 yrds. I really want an updated BP gun where the primer is sealed from the elements - and it has to be stainless for easier cleaning.

Cannot say that I care for the peep either. I saw the gun at the Cabela's in Dundee, MI and they told me T/C did this because most western states don't allow scopes on BP guns. They also said the peep could be taken off and a scope could be mounted, but they couldn't determine what bases to use....

I'm thinking I should stick with their regular omega in the stainless/laminate... Pretty much the same gun but with a longer barrel, true glow sights and no simms recoil pad (not really necessary).
