Omega Trajectory

RE: Omega Trajectory
As I understand it the Nikon Omega scope was set up using a Thompson Encore for the data. They fired the weapon with three pellets of either Pyro or T7 (I would check to be sure before I used such a set up) and a Shockwave 250 Gr saboted bullet.
You are supposed to sight in to hit right on the crosshairs at 100 yards, then the small aperatures which are not adjustable are supposed to be on for the different yardages (150, 200, etc).
I suppose this is resonable if your gun shoots anything similar to the Encore as far as the muzzel velocity goes. Baring any outside influence of wind etc with specific bullet X (known coefficient) and velocity Y (known fps) you will always have a projectable trajectory.Small differences on either side shouldn't make a big variation but downrange, at 250 yards versus 100 yards, small variations could be huge I suppose.
If it were me using it I would try at least one group of shots at those other yardages to see where I was actually hittingversus where they thought it would hit. That would just be a confidence thing for me, I like to be able to have experience with actual results before I apply them.
If anyone is using this scope I would really like to know how it is performing as compared to what Nikon says it does.
