Was looking at one in the gun shop and it had a price tag of $699,It was ss with the new stock.
Has anyone check actual barrel length in the muzzleloader. Some one posted the breech plug was 3 inches long if that is true it would still be about a 24 in barrel.
It shouldered and pointed good and the trigger was not bad.Would love to shoot one and compare it to older model I just sold.

Very nice gun. It is a little lighter and a little more comfortable to hold. I am still waiting for an encore that I ordered in March. Funny how all of these pro hunters are hitting the shelf quicker.[:@]

ok yall, i finaly got to shoot my new pro hunter ,
i first shot my t/c omega , then switched to the prohunter to see a huge difference in the recoil wow,
im shooting 777 pellets at 50/50 with 100 grains
hornady 44-240 hp/xtp sabots in 50 cal
with winchester 209 primers
i shot 15 shots total at 60 yards with the fiberoptic rifle sights that come stock with the gun, all shots hold in a 3 inch circle and about 4 inches high from the 10 ring at 60 yards , of course i dont shot iron sights lol so i am gonna put a scope on it (looking for sugestions) i have a bushnell 3x9 on my omega,
the t handle power rod is an awsome upgrade it really makes loading easy
the only down fall is it vibrates in the sleave when gun is bumped ,
the 90 degree breach plug design is out of this world with the extractor that pivots to the left or right is a nice treat for a man who is used to the omega with no extractor it makes removing them stuburn 209,s a thing of the past
The swing hammer is not all that great , altho it does switch from left handed to right handed it has a funny feel to it when cocking the hammer i would rather use a triger spur (after market)

DR Kill... is the breach plug the same as the one in your Omega? Other than the flat sides of course? If so..I wouldn't see why you couldn't get an "old" Encore or Omega machined to accept the new breech... although it may be cost prohibitive.

Thanks for the measurement Dr kill.I was currious as to how much difference there was in the 26 and 28 in barrel.
Underclock,I tried to post that question to Loggy the other day but when I clicked on post it went back and the form came up blank twice so I quit I am a one finger typer and didn't want to retype again. Couldn't figure it out because I had just commented on another post and it went as usual.
Dr kill please keep us informed after you get your scope on and get to shooting your's.The one I looked at had a very good feeling trigger but didn't check it with a guage.I usually set up several muzzleloaders and reg rifles for others so I am hopeing one will have the pro hunter so I can try it out.
Set up one of the omegas that wal-mart had on sale and it shot very good at 100 yds.Best group was allmost a one holer.Fellow allready had pyro pellets and 250 xtps so I used that.He shouldn't have any problem taking a deer out to 100 yds with it.

It would seem Loggy and DrKill's tapes are calibrated differently.
Plug looks longer than Loggy's measurement.
"Loggy,I read a post that said the breech plug was three inches long is this true?Or can you tell me how long the 28 in barrel actually is?I looked at one just like the one you have in the pic and it sure felt good and the trigger was to my surprize very light,by just the feel. Was wondering about the length,my older model measures 24 in after sutracting the false muzzle and breech plug."
"Herman,
The breechplug on the Pro Hunter is 1.75". Its the easiest breech plug to remove, clean etc. that I've ever seen. T/C also has a great safety feature built-in so that if breech plug is not tight...you cannot close gun. The bbl length (end to end) is 28". Subtract off breechplug & your around 26" of rifling bearing area plus or minus considering QLA & plug area.. "
