It would seem Loggy and DrKill's tapes are calibrated differently.

Plug looks longer than Loggy's measurement.

"Loggy,I read a post that said the breech plug was three inches long is this true?Or can you tell me how long the 28 in barrel actually is?I looked at one just like the one you have in the pic and it sure felt good and the trigger was to my surprize very light,by just the feel.Was wondering about the length,my older model measures 24 in after sutracting the false muzzle and breech plug."

The breechplug on the Pro Hunter is 1.75". Its the easiest breech plug to remove, clean etc. that I've ever seen. T/C also has a great safety feature built-in so that if breech plug is not tight...you cannot close gun. The bbl length (end to end) is 28". Subtract off breechplug & your around 26" of rifling bearing area plus or minus considering QLA & plug area.. "
