Default One is not enough

So I've been bugging my wife about the last Ultra Mag Sportsmans Warehouse had here in Midvale UT. It happen to be the Laminated Stock. If you remember I just bought the Synthetic about a month ago. Well this morning for fathers day I get a card with a lay away receipt in it for the last Ultra Mag Sportsmans Warehouse has here in the valley. Needless to say I'm pretty excited about it. I'v already put 300 plus rounds through the first one. All big conicals no plastic. I'm thinking this Laminated one will be my plastic shooter since I'v heard alot of you guys brag about how good they shoot the sabots. I'm thinking about mostly trying the 452 300grn XTPs with the Knight and regular Harvester sabots since this is what I shoot with my Apex, Black Diamond, Optima and Omega. What do you guys think?

1. I think you're a lucky guy to have a wife who understands your deepest needs.
2. I think it will shoot those 300 XTP's just great. You may have to find just the right sabot (lots to choose from) and the right load (infinite choices), but you should have a real sabot shooter there!

Good Luck and Have Fun!

I think you can never have enough rifles. And in your case you got a fantastic wife to pick out a gift like that.

I just buy what I want. It works out better for me. But it sounds like you had a Happy Fathers Day. And yes these White Rifles will shoot sabots excellent. The Hornady should shoot real well out of it with around100 grains of powder and stop anything that moves out there...

I have shot the 300 gr XTP's and per sabotloaders recommendation have used the Nosler 45/50 or 50/45 whatever they call it. It is a black sabot and I am not an expert, but it loads perfectly. Nice easy start with the thumb and easy smooth push to seat. I found they shoot much better with a swab after each shot and just barely seat the bullet/sabot to the powder. Don't compress at all. Again, this is what has worked for me, but that is with only 2 trips shooting. Many more to follow!!!!!!

My conicals from Alaska are supposed to ship by the end of the week!!!

cascadedad those 460grn 504s from bullshop bullets are great shooters from my Ultra Mag. They load awsome and I dont have any problems with them coming off the powder. I get great accuracy with or without a wad between the powder and bullet. Also If you ever get a chance try some of the No Excuses made here in Utah. One of the best conicals made IMO. Oh by the way I do have the best wife, sorry guys.
