Default Muzzle loader mule deer

Drew a muzzle loader mule deer tag, after I got my cow elk with a muzzle loader last year. Wondering if I should stick with my 370 grain Maxi Ball load, or got with either the round ball or the Buffalo Ball et. They all shoot pretty good with 80 grains of powder. Wondering which would be best for deer.

Later,

Marcial

Charlie Brown if the maxiball is accurate, you know it will take an elk down... it will work just fine on deer as well.

don't get me wrong.. a roundball will do the job. But a maxiball will do it better..

What rifle are you shooting? I am going to hunt elk and antelpe with my muzzleloader next year. I think I am going with the good old 54cal roundballfor antelope. For elk I would like to use a 58cal roundball. Sometimes I think it would be nice to shoot big chunks of lead at things but the roundball is more of a challenge.

They will all work just fine I would try something else out like the roundball or ball-et just to see how they do.

I would use what ever groups the best in your rifle, leaning toward the maxi and ball-et..........Round balls will work just fine, if you don't try to 'stretch the barrel'.

I have a CVA Bobcat 50 CAL. All three shoot just about the same. I think I will stick with the Maxi Ball.
