RE: Best black powder for varmint/long range
dogslayer,I like 45 hawken PRB and 55gr RS for small game but a load of 50 gr and PBR will work well in most 45 or 50 cal inline.
For varmit and medium game I like 50/40-200gr with 150 APP.
Good for corn thives to. Lee

dont get all into it but i use the most accurate load in my 50cal tc hawken flinter...which is a PRB on top of 90grs of goex......killed 2 groundhogs with that load..one was a 45yd shot....with a witness that will tell the story better then i can....he ran to school bragging about me....he about chit his panties when the smoke cleared and it was laying there.....he said i could shoot..but he was backing me with a 7mm weatherby mag and ready to fire as soon as the groundhog moved after the shot....i asked him why he didnt fire...he said i knocked him straight back...looking through his 9x scope he saw it all happen....i just seen smoke...i am proud of that one

The title pretty well sums it up . What do you folks use for squirrel ? How about long range rabbit, prarie dog (200yds) ? Bullet , rifle combo ? Thanks .

The other powder to consider is Goex. Goex for me gives me consistant time after time accuracy.
