Yep, the same paint. As far as prepping the stock I just removed everything from it including the butt plate and sling lugs washed it with soap and water rinsed it real well rubbed it down with alchohol and let it dry for about an hour before painting. This stock I base coated with the olive drab and then added the other colors using the grass/wheat bunch.
The beauty is if you do not like the results just repaint. You also don't have to worry about scratches for the same reason it is easy to touch up.

o.k. you gotta keep rubbing it in that you got a 300$ gun for 109$.
i got one of those junkers too
i havent shot it yet. nice to see its doing well. i would hate to see you have to sell it for 250$ or something

You guys make me feel bad,I paid 160 for my Omega,of course I chaged my mind about using it for trading material when it put 5 250 SW into a 1.5 inch group at 150 yds so I guess I am stuck with it. Lee

Pittsburg,
That's an awesome paint job. Thanks for passing that bit of know-how along.
I bought a Z-5 last fall and took three deer with it this past season. While I paid full price (unlike the lucky dogs like you that stole them :-), I don't regret it for a minute. I bought a Nikon Buckmaster 3X9 off Ebay and mounted it with the Talley one-piece mounts. It is a real clean, simpleset-up that looks cool and functions perfectly. I never used my 30-06 last season and probably won't again this fall. The gun shootsgreat and is easy to clean. I think it is the best value in muzzleloading rifles out there, but that is just my biased opinion. I may consider upgrading the recoil pad, but other than that nit-picky thing I am completely satisfied with it in every respect. Link to picture is below.

Note: Link is fixed (I think)

I could not look at the link for your rifles picture but I will let you know that for now I am leaving this one open sighted for brush and bad weather hunting. So far I am very happy with the shooting results and I have not even come close to breaking it in.
