Default New Z5 omega from TC?

I was wondering if anyone has this new omega. It seems to be cheaper than in price than its former counterpart. I heard it has a pinned in recoil lug on barrel and not welded. Is that true. Any info on it.

i don't see any welding on mine, all pins and screws. i have run about 250 shots through mine with no problems, i started with low powder loads about 90grs.and worked it up to 150 gr of 777 powder with 230 and 300 gr xtp's. to see what worked the best. the best group i got at 200 yards was with 150 gr powder load and a .451dia 45 cal. 230 gr full metal jacket, using a mmp sabot and a cci 209 primer. shooting from a benchwith the gun in a vice. the first 2 shots touched the third was 1/2 inch to the right. that was without cleaning . the best groups at 50 yards with the 230 grxtp hollow point and 90 grs of powder and cleaning after each shot (the cleaningwas only to run a dry patch through the gun without removing the crud ring) all 3 shots touched.

I have one, as do a lot of folks on the board. This version of the omega is offered in only one version - blued metal with black synthetic stock. The trigger assembly also can't be removed. Same barrel however. Mine shoots great.

The trigger assembly does come off you just have to knock out the front pin on the trigger guard and remove the two screws in the block, if you do this be carefull not to strip the screws when you put it back together,I put just a tad of blue locktight back in the screw holes because the back screw only goes in a few turns. When you theknock out the pin be sure to put it back in the way it came out because it has lock groves on one end of the pin. You have to have the right screw driver and a flat tipped punch to do the job. If you do a lot of shooting there will be lots of powder residue that needs to be removed from the trigger assembly and under the barrel that if not removed will corrode your firearm. If your not carefull you will damage the assemble doing this so if your all thumbs don't mess with it, just clean what you can see.
