DFHunt19,
Good Choice
This is the best scope set up for a ML, IMO
Mid South Shooters Supply has the Leupold QR rings for $20.60

You may find them cheaper somewhere else, but I've had very good service from MSSS.Natchez is another place you could look, they have good service and $$ too.

SIDEWAYS
Here i go again, against the norm; I am putting on a 1 piece Warne base, could have got a Weaver for a lot less, and Warne Intermediate Rings, and again I could have gotten Weavers cheaper. I do not plan to remove the scope so this combinatin will work well for me.

DFhunt-You have to check around.Lots of places sell QR.I believe I bought my rings from Cabela's and the base from Midsouth.Whatever was cheapest at the time. Some prices are way too high.I do not like high bases and had to remove the sights to mount a 3x9x40 on my Omega.

Can't believe this post, I just went and traded in a Rem.710 and a CVA for a new T/C Omega and was looking around for good scope ring combo's. After all the info from my last post decided 50 cal. Omega was the one- got a camo stock and the blued barrel so sweet, thanks again for all the info guys. Which Talley mounts are they using I only see listing for the Encore?

UC-Good looking rifle.I am sure TC will sell a lot of them.I wonder what the 22" barrel (24" minus QLA) will do to velocity.A lot of Omega owners seem to be going to high power .400" loads. I don't know if a short barrel will burn that much powder.

Leupold QR rings and base are as advertised. You won't be unhappy with them. My friend has an Omega with Weaver mounts and see-though rings, virtually worthlessbecause the base obscures the rear sight.
With theLeupold QR setup on my Encore, I can take my scope off to cleanand its dead on when put back on. Can't say enough about them.

I definitely recommend quick release/detachable rings for most any inline. Makes cleaning much easier and in doing so helps minimize the chance of damage to a scope or its finish from solvents, rods, etc. The Warne, TC Maxima, and Stratton Custom ( or http://www.matchgrademachine.com/) are all good solid steel bases with some mounting flexibility for ring position. The latter two (one really) are more contoured and perhaps aesthetically pleasing but also a bit higher priced. Good QD rings to fit Weaver-style bases can be had from several manufacturers but the Warnes from UltOut.com are hard to beat. The Leupold QR style base setup is also my favorite for some of my muzzleloaders but for the Encore/Omega, I would tend to prefer the Warne style.
Millett is showing a new type of ring on their website that looks interesting - The Grabber - fits Weaver cross-slots but I haven't seen it anywhere else yet.
B-Square used to make a nice base for the Contender. Picatinny style cross-slots from one end to the other along with a front tensioning screw with brass tip for the inevitable gap. Don't know why the dropped it or if they ever made one for the Encore, but I like the base on my G2. TC's continuing insistence on treating every barrel as if intended for a handgun (the very close spacing of the mount screws) baffles me. Even the new Pro Hunter shows no improvement there.
