First BP subsitute I used was Clear shot loose and really like that stuff with my 50 Plains rifle and 54 Remington. Second lot bought after the law suit over the pellet issue was named AAP clear shot loose. Horriable stuff, Sabots I picked up off my private range so I knew they were mine, still had unburnt grains in the basecup. They clain they have that problem solved, Well thank take back my part empty jar and give me some of the new stuff to replace it if it has really changed. Well if it has changed they you would think would try to get old buyers back with samples of replaceing the junk that just won't totally burn. That was 100 grains by volume

Sabre Tooth's are the same basic idea as PowerBelts only cheaper - and I believe you can use PowerBelts in Colorado. Even thought they have a piece of plastic on them they are not considered sabots - and the bullet is full bore size...

Saber Tooths are a full bore conical in a very small plastic wad/sabot almost. They shoot real well out of most my rifles. As well as the powerbelts do anyway. They have a funny nose on them and look like after they hit they are really going to open up. I do not know what kind of penetration you would get on an elk size critter but I think on a deer they would be just fine.
So far, every inline I have tried them out of, shoot 100 grains, they have shot excellent groups...

I don't know about the old clear shot never tried it BUT I have been using the new APP and I love it. I tried the PB 245 about 3 inch @100yd also tried the Sabor Tooth 250 they group much better in my Omega just wonder how they open on deer? ALSO I ran the powder ladder to 150 with RS and AP both shot much the same groups just a lot more cleaning with RS best groups were @ 150 with both and also with 50 /40 200gr Shock Wave [shot less than 1 inch 3 times in a row with the Shock Waves wow] but how will they work after you hit a deer?
