CVA wolf
#1
I have been able to get my dad back into hunting this year. He has been doing alot of crossbow hunting with me. This year I took a buck with my Knight bighorn and my dad was impressed with the how far the modern inlines have came. So I just bought a wolf from cabelas.com. I did not want to spend to much since I don't know how much he will or will not like BP. Do any of you guys own a wolf or could you recomend a load. I currenly use 240 grain hornadys with two 777 pellets and am well pleased with this load, not sure if it would be good for the wolf? Thanks.

I don't have a CVA Wolf, but if I were starting out the rifle, I would start at 80 grains of T-7 and the 240 grain XTP's. I think you might get good accuracy with that. If you get good groups, you can try the two pellets also. You might also want to look at a lot of different projectiles out there. Powerbelts should shoot well out of it. I would look at the 245 and 295 grain and try them with the two pellets.
Good luck with the rifle and I hope your father enjoys black powder shooting....
