Muzzleloader scope mounts??

RE: Muzzleloader scope mounts??
I use the Leupold Quick Release mounts for my ML. The really do return to zero when you put the scope back on the receiver. I'll be honest, I had my doubts at first, but man I'm glad I listened to some friends that had them b/c cleanings never been easier!

See-thru mounts are a snare and a delusion. They put the scope WAY TOO HIGH up in the air, so you have to crane your neck and get your chin up off the comb to use the scope. Bad news!! If you have a scope on your gun, it is the primary, not an auxiliary, sight. I have a detachable mount, but rarely detach it, I just scrub the fouling off the bottom of the scope with a cleaning patch.

I use to have regular burris mounts, just switched to the loopy QR setup and it is a dream. I agree cleaning the scope is not a big deal, but it does allow you better access to the breech plug area, which saves time. for anybody starting from scratch your crazy not to get a good quality QR for your ML.
