why do they have that on in the video???

ok I am pretty new to BP but I was watching some jim shockey video's when they are hunting in canada, (whitch I hunt alot cause I live there lol) and they most of the time have like a hat or mit thing over there scope and rifle even when they are shooting, what is this for does it serve some purpose, I know its not some proto type thing cause in most cases you can tell its just a cut hat lol..it must serve some purpose??clare?blow back??the cold temps??any ideas

I'm wondering if your talking about a scope cover? These are put on the scopes because of the high degree of fowling that many muzzleloaders demonstrate. The scope cover protect the scope from the release of hot gases and also the corrosive fowling of the black powder.

no this is not some product, they actually use a winter hat/touqe its sliped over the scope and gun (both beeing coverd by the hat they cut) I can only think of it beeing for glare?sound or something like I said it not a product best way I can describe it is if you wrapped a scarf around your scope and gun togother but just so it coverd the scope and part of the gun (the length of the scope) on the gun....someone has to have seen the video its where he is only hunting in sask. in canada..

the only other thing it could be is a scope coat. They are put over the scope to protect it from dirt, scratches, dings, etc. Also they wick moisture off the lens so they do not fog up. Could this be what you're refering too?
