Default Rust Spots

Don't make me admit to how this happened, but I've got a few rust spots on the barrel of my Knight Wolverine. The bore is clean, but the outside has of the stainless barrel (and "yes" I know stainless could still rust) has a few small rust spots in a couple of places. Bore cleaner like Rusty Duck or the Knight brand cleaning solvent does not take it off. It appears to be mostly surface rust and I'm wondering what the best way to clean them off would be. Steel wool, maybe?

I would use fine steel wool and some gun oil, rub in circular motions on the surface spots and wipe clean. Make sure you oil these areas real good in the future to prevent them getting larger.

If you don't have steel wool handy tin foil rolled up into a ball as well works. Again make sure you use oil to lubricate the area and light circular motions.

Should do the trick for yeah!

Thanks Skeeter. I should have a chance to try it one night this week and will let you know how it works out.
