Default How do I remove A T/C encore breach plug??????

You've gotta be kidding me.
I'm a brand new happy/sad owner of a T/C Encore black synthetic thumbhole stainless muzzleloader.
beautifull gun!
Well I thought I would strip it down so I know everything about it. To my surprize it seams to me and I sure hope This is not true but in order to get the breach plug out of this gun for a good cleaning after every use it looks like I will have to
1. take 2 screws out so the forearm comes off
2. punch the hinge pin out
3.remove a tiny screw (meaning I now need 2 different size screwdrivers)
4. slide out the primer extracor
and then I can finaly remove the breach plug after the gun is almost stripped down???????

Please tell me there is a better way!!!!!
IF not then this SUCKS.
I was thinking I would just screw the plug out without removing anything but this is stupid.

FYI, there might be a set of steps listed in the owner's manual

Best thing is to take the primer extractor out put it up some where in case you ever want to sell it,and you can take the breech plug out by just breaking it down.Thats what I did with both of mine.

Marksman my ONLY complaint with the Encore is that T/C refuses to put their "EZ Tip Extractor" in them from the factory. Why they don't do that and charge an extra $10 for the gun is beyond me. EVER single Encore I have sold (hundreds) have gone out the door with the EZs and every customer has thanked me.

Now some simply remove the extractor and never use them again, but if you get a primer that is snug after firing you will be removing it with your pocket knife so I don't recommend that. Whoever sold you the gun should have the EZs if they don't tell them to order you one or call T/C yourself and have them send you one. They are only $20 and they are THE best $20 you will EVER spend on an Encore. The EZ Tip Extractor looks just like the regular one except it is hinged and allows you to simply push it down out of the way and remove the breech plug without disassembling the gun.

If you have to call T/C encourage them to start putting them in the guns at the factory. Let's get together and EVERYONE encourage them to do so and just maybe they will see the light on this only glitch in an otherwise perfect system!

I put the 25 acp adapter in mine and took out the extractor, have no problem loading the 25 acp case or extracting it with my fingers.
