Pursuit LT Ramrod Question

I recently purchased a Pursuit LT to add a month to my available hunting time. Maybe it is just me, but to load a T/C Shockwave on top of two pellets of Triple 7, you have to reverse the jag on the end of the ramrod. Is it safe to leave it reversed and shoot it this way? I would assume that there would be no possible way for a bullet to strike the jag or for muzzle blast to damage it. If I were using the rod as with the tip in the original position, it would not be long enough to seat the bullet in the breech.
I have a loading tip especially for the shockwaves, but it only fits the end of the rod that slides through the thimble towards the receiver. I have to remove it every time to reaffix the ramrod. This doesn't seem practical in a hunting situation. Granted that I would want a one-shot/one-kill, but sometimes follow ups are necessary.
After a shot, the way I see the ramrod working, I would have to remove it. Then, flip over the jag at the muzzle end of the rod just to get the extra three/four inches of length it provides. Load. Then, reverse the jag to reaffix it to the ML. Is that what you do every time you shoot?
I would like to have a rod with 10/32 at both ends with a loading jag for the shockwaves left attached at the muzzle end. The rod with the Pursuit has 10/32 on one end and 5/16on the other.
Is the way I am using it correct? Should I replacethe ramrodwith something better(threaded 5/16 on both ends)? Any Pursuit shooters out there got a suggestion?

Just bought my son the same gun and foung the same problem. What I told him was to leave the jag reversed and then just keep it beside him in the stand. That may not be the most efficient way but at least I know he's not going to shoot it off. I was sighting it in today with him and found out another cool thing. I've been shooting a tradition's deerhunter muzzle loader for 18 years (real old school but it has racked up alot of kills so just can't convince myself to go inline. some habbits die hard). It, like the LT has a 1:28 twist so I thought I would try the 240 grain mini balls that I make for my deerhunter. Believe it or not much tighter groups than using sabots!!!!!! Very pleased for my son can shoot lots at very little cost. Give it a try. Best of luck with the new LT.

I should have said 10/32 on both ends not 5/16ths.The barrel is 26 inches. The ramrod is 22.5 with the jag in normal position. It is 24 inches in the 'extended' position. Breech plug, plus two pellets, plus shockwave is about, what, 4 inches.I removed the forearm and it appears that the ramrod is inserted all the way to the receiver, but with the jag extended it is still extends past the end of the muzzle. Is it safe to shoot with the ramrod protruding past the muzzle 1.5 inches? Then I could shoot, pull the ramrod, and just reload without flipping the jag. With my luck, if I set the rod beside me in a stand, it would fall and hit every rung on my ladder stand on the way to the ground. Nice and loud like.

My Pursuit LT was like that too............but I traded it off for a H&R Sportster 17 HM2....................I like to shoot warm loads and started to be concerned about barrels made in Spain. I use an Omega Z5 now and it's ram rod is long enuff.
