just about any gun that i have owed that was not pillar mounted you could change the POI just by changing the tension on themounting screws. biggest change comes from the forearm screw. by over tighting the forearm the POI usuallygoes up.this is common on savages, h-r's and even remingtons if they are not pillar mounted. this isthe reasonto make sure everything is tight before you sightin.
Not exactly the same beast as what your referring too. I have done some bedding in my life. And there is no reason for POI change if its freefloated.

bigcountry... i wasn't questioning your bedding. but i have been bedding riflesfor about twenty years also.i didkinda get off the subject. i was refering to the POI changes on Roskoe's gun when he takes his stock off to clean under it. by retighting the screws tighter or loser it can change the POI. even witha free floating barrel uneven presser on the action and receiver can effect the way the gun will shoot. this is just something i have learned over the years that i was sharing. it may save someone a headache someday.

You may be right about the bedding issue. I sold the gun recently - maybe I should have kept it
