Took him about a half an hour before dusk... I was watching approximately a dozen other deer in the field at the time this one came in a scared them away... He might not be the biggest monster ever, but he is my biggest... I can now say I have a big buck... It took me ten years.. By the way 9 pointer, 200 pounds (pre-field dressed). Got him with my TC Omega in Bracken County, Kentucky, just south of Maysville.

That's a fantastic buck!! Congratulations. Your Omega did the job... cool. How far away, what powder charge, and projectile did you use? Did it drop him on the spot? That really is a nice deer...

I shot him at about 40-50 yards from my new shadow hunter stand (http://www.shadowhunterllc.com/index.html) <---HIGHLY recommended! I use a 245 grain powerbelt with 100 grains of Jim Shockey's premium American Pioneer Powder (loose FFFG). I hit him from above between the shoulders and he didn't move more than three steps. Took out one lung and the heart (and probably spine, but couldn't find the bullet or exit wound, it was getting dark and I wanted to hurry up and get him field dressed... Thank good for the zip saw!!! By the way my Omega is the SS thumbhole variety and I will probably use it instead of my shotgun this year in Ohio... More accurate than any shotgun I have ever seen...

Really nice deer! Definitely bigger than anything I have shot. I have an eleven pointer but he doesn't have near the mass or spread of your nine. Congrats again on a really nice deer!
