Just got a new T/C Omega and am planning to try various powder and projectile combinations. Several people have mentioned that 250 grain Shockwaves can be hard to load in this rifle. They've suggested using Harvester Sabots. Which size Harvester do you use with this particular bullet (looks like there's 3 different .50 caliber sizes)? Also, I've got Pyrodex RS, Triple Seven and APP (FFFG) - all lose powder. Any suggestions for whichpowder to start with, including charge? I've had pretty good luck with both RS and Triple Seven (90 grains) behind a 385 grain Horndady Great Plains conical in my Remington 700ML, but thought I'd try sabots with the Omega.
Appreciate any suggestions you have.

First, I would shoota box or two oflead conicals through the Omega just to smooth it up a little. The T/C Shockwave sabots seem to seat about right in both of my Black Diamonds and Omega. Firm, but not so difficult you need a mallet. I think I would try those first. I also would try 100 gr. of powder, with each you are considering, and work up from there.
My pet sabotload is 130 grains of Pyrodex pellets with the 250 Shockwave. Others have reported good luck with 110 gr. of Triple 7. I know the pellets are expensive, but they shoot well and are fairly convenient. Good luck. Roskoe

My omega likes 90 grains of black mag 3 , and 295 grain powerbelts . I tryed the harvester sabots with the shockwaves , and they did not help much , a little yes as they are slightly smaller than the stock sabots by about 1 1/2 thousands of an inch by my micrometer .

I found the Shockwaves very hard to seat when I initially bought my Omega a month ago, so much so that I had to pound the rod to seat them. However, after expending about 200 shots of various bullet/sabot/conicals I tried the same Shockwaves again (because I still had some left over) and I found that they were going down a lot easier. Still a little tight, but from the groups I'm getting it seems just the right amount of tight.
On the other hand, the Powerbelts which shot OK at the begining are now all over the place.
