Default Good rounds for Knight Disc Original??

Hey,
I have been shooting some Hornady XTP 45 cal. 300 gr. bullets through my muzzleloader. I had heard from quite a few folks from around here that that was the load they had a lot of luck with. Any other ideas that don't cost a fortune?? I just wanna try a few different loads to see what shoots the best through my gun; beings I have heard that each gun shoots different loads better....

Thanks,
Joey

I found that the 240 grain XTP shot all right but I felt they could have done better. I was more encouraged with the 405 grain .458 diameter Remington FP (I also cast my own out of pure lead). Shooting 100 grains of Goex 3f they did well. I am sure the Barnes Expanders would do real well also, but they are expensive to shoot.

If I come across a good shooter, I will keep you in mind.

I've got a Knight DISC, but in .50 cal., not .45 I shoot 100 gr. of Pyrodex (2) pellets and 265 gr. Swift A-Frame sabot slugs and it groups amazingly.

I've never hear of them. Where do you buy them from? I wanted to shoot today but as I was at the bench getting ready to load, it decided to rain again...[:@]

I used to buy them from Galyans, but they were bought by Dicks Sporting Goods last year and haven't been able to find them myself. Looks like I'll be changing as soon as my current supply runs out. BTW - on the package, it says manufactured by Knight, but also Swift A-Frame...

Bought a knight disc in 45 cal a few years back,it had a 1:20 twist and was pretty hard finding the right bullet and load for but finally found one that shot around an inch @100.the first day of that years season I took one at 170 yds with it.
The load was 110 gr,pyro-select and a 225 gr power belt.
Sold it to my brother and he tried to get it to shoot different bullets but didn't do well he sent it back to knight and they put another barrel on it (believe it was 1:30 twist, but not sure) He took 2 deer with it the following yer but don't know what bullet he used.
I would try the 200 gr sst or shock wave and 100 gr powder.Or even the power belts I think they have 3 different grain sizes in 45 cal.
