I was at Bass Pro and was looking at some 285 grain barnes boat tail bullets and was thinking of loading those bad boys with 120 grains of T7.do you think that is to much, and would that make a good killing load?

Only your rifle will know for sure what kind of powder charge they will like, if they will like them at all. Barnes are normally excellent shooting projectiles and can be pushed very hard and still maintain their accuracy...
Also the design of the Barnes Expanders that I shoot make them an excellent take down bullet for game of all size. Their controlled expansion and the way they retain their bullet weight is excellent. I have never shot the 285 grain Barnes Boattail bullets.
